Ventura and Orange County Welterweights.
Bruce Irons in my eyes is one of the most talented waterman of his time. Even though groomed for such excellence, he has proved himself more and more worthy of this entitlement. If the chance provides itself, or you actually read and give a damn about my opinions, pick an issue of the newest Surfer’s Journal. Flip to the back and read the short article which was recorded in the water at Cloudbreak in Tahiti. Mr. Irons here talks drowning, while Nathan Fletcher laughs along side him. For the past two months I just haven’t been motivated to do anything technological. Sorry. So here’s what I missed. First and foremost, King Kelly. Once again the Florida native, now 11X World Champ dominated the WT ending in Frisco shore pound. Secondly, John John destroyed the Triple Crown at home, while Keiren Perrow finally snatched the win at Pipeline. Thirdly, most recently, and most tragically, the passing of Surfline.com’s founder and chief editor Sean Collins. My thoughts go out to the whole Surfline and Collins family.
Although “disgust” has been my go-to word when describing my feelings towards Sublime as of lately, I do have to admit that at one point in my life I owned every album and listened to them religiously.
